Four plants, one sheet, and a skull in the middle holding them together. Poison Garden is an apothecary chart of the classic four — hemlock, mandrake, monkshood and henbane — each drawn bloom to root in its own quarter of the parchment, with fine ruled lines running between them like something is being connected that perhaps shouldn't be.
Unusually for this kind of plate, it is tinted: green foliage, deep violet on the monkshood hoods, cream and dark purple in the henbane throats. The mandrake's forked, knuckled taproot dominates the top right and is, frankly, the reason most people stop scrolling.

PRINT OPTIONS
You can bring this piece home in the format that suits your space:
• POSTER PRINT — professional-grade 200 GSM matte photo paper, UV-resistant archival inks, shipped rolled in a protective tube and ready to frame your way.
• STRETCHED CANVAS — gallery-wrapped over a sturdy 1.25" frame with a black border for extra depth and contrast, hanging hardware pre-installed.
• FRAMED CANVAS — your stretched canvas finished in a solid wood frame in your choice of colour, with hardware already fitted. The frame adds roughly 1/2" on each side.
Every format uses fade- and UV-resistant archival inks on sustainably sourced materials, so every labelled detail on this chart stays legible.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
• Four specimens on one sheet does the work of a gallery wall in a single frame — a botanical chart with skull medallion where each quarter is a complete study in its own right.
• **Top left, hemlock:** flat white umbels on a spotted stem with finely divided ferny leaves, plus separate ribbed seed studies and a cut stem showing the hollow.
• **Top right, mandrake:** a heavy forked taproot, knuckled and unnervingly limb-like, under a rosette of broad leaves and pale violet flowers — the specimen everyone looks at first.
• **Bottom left, monkshood:** tall spires of deep violet hooded flowers over deeply cut leaves, with a dissected hood, a tuberous root and a seed capsule drawn alongside.
• **Bottom right, henbane:** cream flowers veined and centred in dark purple over hairy sticky leaves, with the spiky seed capsules and a woody root beneath.
• A circular medallion at the dead centre holds a skull in three-quarter view — the one element that is not botany, quietly tying the four quarters together.
• It hangs where things are read and collected: a four plant poison specimen chart for a dark academia study, above a bookcase, in a witchy kitchen or herb corner, or over a desk.

A WORD FROM US
There is a real poison garden in Northumberland where every bed is planted with something that could kill you and the gate stays locked. Visitors are told not to smell anything. We like that a place like that exists, and we like even more that people queue to get in. These four are the old canon — the ones in the trial records, the ballads and the herbals, each with a body count and a folklore. Put them together on one sheet and they stop being plants and start being a cast. Explore the rest of our dark academia collection for more, and reach out any time.
Please note: due to differences in monitor settings and display calibration, actual print colors may vary slightly from what you see on screen.
