Somebody has been lighting these.
A wet cobbled path runs away from you between two tall wrought-iron gates, standing open. Along both verges, glass lanterns burn at ground level — eight or nine of them, spaced out and still going, throwing gold across the stones and up onto the leaning headstones behind. Beyond the gates the path dissolves into fog, and crosses and headstones stack back into it until they stop being legible.
Above the right-hand gate, on a raised tomb wrapped in ivy: a life-size **weeping angel**, seated, head in her hands, wings folded down her back. She has been doing that for a very long time and she is not looking at the path.
Bare branches reach in overhead. The moon is behind cloud somewhere top-centre. Nothing here is threatening — it is simply very, very quiet, and somebody came out earlier and lit the way.

PRINT OPTIONS
You can bring this piece home in the format that suits your space:
• POSTER PRINT — professional-grade 200 GSM matte photo paper, UV-resistant archival inks, shipped rolled in a protective tube and ready to frame your way.
• STRETCHED CANVAS — gallery-wrapped over a sturdy 1.25" frame with a black border for extra depth and contrast, hanging hardware pre-installed.
• FRAMED CANVAS — your stretched canvas finished in a solid wood frame in your choice of colour, with hardware already fitted. The frame adds roughly 1/2" on each side.
Every format uses fade- and UV-resistant archival inks on sustainably sourced materials, so the lantern gold holds against the fog.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
• The lanterns are the whole composition. Eight or nine glass lamps burning at ground level along both verges, receding into the fog — a **candlelit graveyard canvas** that reads as tended rather than abandoned.
• The weeping angel is properly carved: seated on a raised tomb, face buried in both hands, wings folded down her back, ivy climbing the plinth beneath her. She is grief rendered in stone, not a horror prop.
• The gates do the framing. Tall wrought iron in scrolled panels with spearhead finials, standing open on both sides, gold catching along every curl of the ironwork.
• Depth is genuine. Wet cobbles in the foreground, leaning headstones and crosses mid-ground, then the whole graveyard dissolving into fog with the shapes of monuments still just readable.
• Cold grey-green fog against warm candle gold is the entire palette, and it is what makes a **victorian mourning wall art** print feel consoling rather than grim.
• It gives with real weight. A **weeping angel cemetery print** works as a sympathy or remembrance piece in a way almost no other wall art does — and equally as a hallway or stairwell anchor for anyone who simply loves old churchyards.

A WORD FROM US
The lychgate was where the parish waited. You carried the coffin that far, set it down under the roof, and stood about until the priest came out — so the gate ended up being the part of the churchyard where people actually spent time, rather than the graves themselves. We lit this one because a path with lamps on it is an invitation, and a path without them is a warning, and we knew which of the two we wanted to make. Explore the rest of our gothic wall art collection for more, and reach out any time.
Please note: due to differences in monitor settings and display calibration, actual print colors may vary slightly from what you see on screen.
