The chain looked like a silk ribbon. That was the trick.
The dwarves made Gleipnir out of six impossible things — the sound of a cat's footfall, a woman's beard, the roots of a mountain, a bear's sinews, a fish's breath, a bird's spit — and when they finished, the sixth of everything was gone from the world. What came out was a fine, soft cord the wolf could see straight through, which is exactly why he agreed to be tied with it.
Here it is: a chain of glowing white-gold links wound round his neck, chest, forelegs and haunches, running taut off to two carved runestones standing in the shallows. He fills the frame — shaggy, black, jaws open on long fangs, eyes burning electric blue, snow driving across a frozen shore under a cold moon. And on a crag away to the right, a small group of figures with a spear and a horned helm among them, standing at a safe distance, watching.

PRINT OPTIONS
You can bring this piece home in the format that suits your space:
• POSTER PRINT — professional-grade 200 GSM matte photo paper, UV-resistant archival inks, shipped rolled in a protective tube and ready to frame your way.
• STRETCHED CANVAS — gallery-wrapped over a sturdy 1.25" frame with a black border for extra depth and contrast, hanging hardware pre-installed.
• FRAMED CANVAS — your stretched canvas finished in a solid wood frame in your choice of colour, with hardware already fitted. The frame adds roughly 1/2" on each side.
Every format uses fade- and UV-resistant archival inks on sustainably sourced materials, so the chain keeps its glow against the cold blue.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
• The chain is the design. Gleipnir is drawn as links of **glowing white-gold light** — absurdly fine for what it is holding — running taut from the wolf to two carved runestones planted in the water on either side.
• It is a betrayal scene, not a monster portrait. The small group on the distant crag at the right, one of them carrying a spear, are the ones who talked him into it. They are standing well back.
• The wolf is enormous and beautifully painted: matted black fur catching blue rimlight, jaws open on long fangs, and **electric blue eyes** that are the brightest thing in the frame after the chain.
• The setting is properly cold — driving snow, shallow black water underfoot, dark crags behind, and a bright moon breaking through cloud at the upper right. A **blue moonlit wolf wall art for a man cave** with no warm colour anywhere in it.
• Wide format with a centred subject makes this a straightforward big-wall sell: a **giant norse wolf print for above the sofa**, a media wall or a home gym.
• Glowing lines across a dark mass is exactly what survives thumbnail compression, so it works as hard in a shop grid as it does on a wall.

A WORD FROM US
Two chains had already failed, so the third time the gods made it a game — try this one, prove how strong you are. Fenrir looked at the ribbon and said he could see no glory in breaking something so slight, and if there was no trick in it, one of them could put a hand in his mouth as surety. There was a silence. Then Tyr stepped forward, and lost the hand, and the chain held. It is still holding. That is the moment we painted: the wolf tied with something that looks like nothing, and everyone responsible standing well back.
